In the News - 2024 Scholarship Winners

We are pleased to announce the 2024 winners of the Ozaukee Chorus Scholarships.

The students are from high schools in Ozaukee County.

Their biographies of  each recipient are below.

Isabella Schmitz is a senior at Port Washington High School and has participated in Port’s Limited Edition a cappella group, Mixed Choir and Treble Choir. Isabella has received numerous awards at the International Championship High School competitions since her sophomore year. She has been part of many musicals playing the lead role in several of them. Isabella plans on attending Savannah College of Art and Design with an emphasis on musical theater and production design.

 

 

Pyper Flaig is a senior at Grafton High School and has participated in the Graftonics a cappella group and Concert Choir. She has qualified at state for performances in Solo and Ensemble. Over the past six years Pyper has been a part of many school musicals both in middle and high school. She plans on attending Simmons University in Boston majoring in history and IT and will be participating in the school’s music and theater opportunities.

 

 

Ryan Kramer is a senior at Homestead High School in Mequon, has participated in the school’s choral programs for four years and is currently a member of Homestead’s Bel Canto Chorus and the Jazz Ensemble. An exemplary award was achieved at the Wisconsin State Musical Festival. Ryan has played lead roles in school musicals and his college plans include a minor in music or music composition. 

 

 

Abby Straub is a senior at Cedarburg High School. She has been a part of the music program all four years including Bella Voce and a cappella choir. Abby has earned *1 ratings at both regional and state Solo and Ensemble competitions. She has participated in the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association All State Treble Choir for the past two years. Abby plans on attending UW-Eau Claire with a major in Biology and will be involved in the school’s choral program.  Scholarship winners are ask to perform at our spring concert, but Abby is unable to attend.  Please see her performance by clicking this link
